The Residential Landlords Association is strongly lobbying against government plans which could result in local authorities having the ability to declare “no-go” zones for privately rented shared houses where they feel they have a “HMO problem” from 1st October. The RLA is concerned that the government’s policy will lead to more red tape at the local level and we agree that this would also be likely to lead to local government having too much additional power. This proposal may also adversely impact the market as it won’t offer Landlords the flexibility they currently enjoy (subject of course to having suitable planning permission).
You may therefore want to support the RLA’s campaign !!
